Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! Sorry if I didn´t get
around to responding to every email but I wanted to write this email today
because I had a pretty cool experience this week!
I was on divisions with a new elder in my district and we were looking for
a man in a ghetto that had talked to the sisters a while ago but were about to
leave without having found him. As we left, we passed a man on the street and
said hello to him and kept going. After he got a little passed us, the Spirit
hit me super hard and I turned around and called out to him. Turns out he was
the very dude we had been looking for in that area. He took us to his house and
let us teach him. He is GOLDEN. The coolest part though was when we started
teaching him, he explained to us that he had already received missionaries 20
years ago and had some notion about the book of Mormon and the Restoration. He
asked us our names and when i said "Elder Nixon" he responded, "I once knew a
Nixon. His name was Elder too!"
Well we talked it out a little and I´m pretty sure it checks out. I think
he was an old investigator of my uncle who served in this same town about 20
years ago!! That was pretty cool how it all worked out!! I´m super excited to
keep teaching him!!
